Bringing Production to Taos, NM
7K Studios is launching the first-ever full-service film production studio in Taos, New Mexico. We are excited to bring production to our town, build sustainable infrastructure within our community, and create an opening for a new industry to thrive. 7K Studios is a purpose-built studio that will attract productions, generate jobs, and drive economic growth, all while partnering with existing entities within Taos to further bolster our community.

Our 5,500 sqft sound stage boasts 25” thick New Mexico Adobe walls, original vigas and latillas, and a beautiful proscenium stage.

The original classrooms will be our photography / videography studios. Perfect for smaller daily or hourly projects, with motion capture markers and green screen capabilities EFX shooting.

Featuring classic New Mexico interior design elements with bancos and nichos, this small stage is a perfect setting for fashion, product, and personal photography projects.

Unique to this property is the 5 bedroom BnB nestled in between our stages, making shooting here a unique and immersive experience. A communal kitchen, coffee bar, and lounge area will make it truly feel feel like a home of creative possibilities.

The second half of the classrooms will be devoted to prep and post production. Two 20’x 40’ rooms will offer editing suits, sound recording bays, and working offices - all looped in with the highest speed internet in the area to talk to production houses around the world.
Our goal is to not merely bring movies to Taos. We want to introduce Taos to all of the benefits and gains that film has brought to the rest of the state. We want to invigorate our community by providing work readiness programs, teaching real skills for future employment. We will partner with existing organizations aimed at supporting our youth, our Indigenous community, and the arts. We will offer employment opportunities for locals with projects shot at our studio and also shot in the wider community. We will work to market Taos as a viable option for long term, sustainable production partnerships, not as a playground for the wealthy. There are endless economic opportunities for growth when film comes to town, from renting props and wardrobe, to providing hair and makeup, setting up private and public locations rentals, and so much more.
